The Title: Salvadore Dali, Dalai Lama, Llama
The story line:
I wanted to carve something that could not be done in sand, like a person with their arms straight out, not carved in base relief. This brought Salvadore Dali's crutch supported paintings to mind.. thus the seed for the idea. I was happy with the piece at the end of the second day, but right a quitting time a massive thunder storm blew in, and i was positioned ont he beach right between two buildings which funneled the rain. The first image below shows the rain damage, and the other the finished recovery piece which surprisingly ended up in 5th place. It was not nearly as good as the first, but at least i got the idea out of my system.
